With a great background as an instructor and a player, Max brings his expertise and passion to the court, helping you to improve your Pickleball game. Max Johnson was born and raised in the Johnson County area with a passion for sports. In 2020, Max found the incredible sport of Pickleball. His pickleball passion grew quickly and before he knew it, he was playing everyday for multiple hours. That lesson gave me a really good real experience, and I feel like I understood things quite well. Max's approach is pretty relaxed but insightful, and I appreciated the focus on practical skills. Though I still need to learn lobs and improve my movement up to the kitchen, I think with more practice I'll get there. Still, it was helpful to get a sense of how to approach those aspects in actual play, and I’m hopeful about the progress ahead. Max was geat. I had played tennis in high school, but basically nothing for over 50 years. Prior to Max, I had one group lesson, but it wasn’t enough to learn the very basics. With Max, my confidence greatly improved. I’m going to try another open play before another lesson. I have several great takeaways, including crouching more and keeping my arm straight, and striking the ball in the middle of the paddle. Max was very encouraging and convinced me I could advance to the intermediate level with some good guidance.

The lesson with Max really helped improve my dinking and overheads, and I also focused on my footwork which was pretty helpful. Still, I think adding more power to my game would make a big difference, so I’m hoping to work on that in future lessons.
