I was born and grew up in China. Before becoming a Mandarin tutor, I worked in hospitals as a well-liked Mandarin Interpreter. I enjoy teaching students at all ages, online or in-person. Over the years I have gained extensive experience working with children. Per your unique needs and desires, I'll design and prepare lessons that will meet your goals and areas of interest and improvements. I have taught and coached: Computer Science, Physics and Math after a career as an engineer and manager. My name is Joey Potts, and I’ve played professional basketball for three years. Two years overseas in Romania and Norway, and one with the Salem Capitals in Oregon. I’m a 6’9” power forward who competed at the junior college, Division I (Oregon State), and NAIA (Oregon Tech) levels. My experience across multiple levels gives me a unique perspective on the game. I’ve coached and trained players ranging from 5 years old to high school and college athletes.

For over 25 years, I've loved the game of basketball. I have coached middle school as well as the last 8 years at the high school level. I specialize in the teaching of fundamentals for beginners. I also have several years experience as a varsity football special teams coordinator, defensive coordinator, and strength and conditioning coach. I am most passionate about strength and speed development, running back and linebacker play, and development of skills (basic to advanced).
